D-Day in Games: Army Men: World War

One of the earliest and probably surprising representations of D-Day in a console game was 2000’s “Army Men: World War.” A bit clunky to control by todays standards it was a fun game in it’s it day. There are a total of two D-Day missions. The first called “G-Day” starts in plastic green landing craft an you assault some bluffs.

Grenade throwing mechanic, the little box moves back and forth where the grenade will land

The second mission is called “Cliff Hanger” and is sort of inspired by Point-Du-Hoc. It has the player attacking up some hills/cliffs to take out some cannons
