1970’s Motorcycle Racing

Or more specifically the story of how my dad got run over. Here’s Pops back in the 70s using his body to generously launch his fellow racer airborne. Apparently his crash made the cover of Cycle magazine or something (I forget the name). He was fine but had a tire track bruise up his back that the doctors just laughed at when he went in. And his leg turned black but felt fine he said. Just his back was sore. The story goes they just laugh at him, then called the other doctors and nurses in to laugh then gave him some aspirin. The shoe he’s wearing is the is the last photo. Each riders skid shoe is custom made for their foot and style of riding. The strap was from a WWII vintage rucksack actually.
